Course Description: Working with children who have special needs can be rewarding, and including children with special needs in your child care program can help all children learn. As a result of the lesson you will:
Know how to support families of children with special needs
Know how to communicate with and about children with disabilities and their families
Understand what is an IEP and IFSP
Recognize how you can contribute to creating IEPs and IFSPs
Understand the laws and regulations applying to the inclusion of children with special needs in child care programs and schools
