Introduction to Backyard Poultry introduces various poultry breeds and their uses. Provides participants with poultry husbandry and care basics, including housing and nutritional requirements.  Learners will develop an understanding of diseases and biosecurity principles.  The course will provide participants with information regarding poultry reproduction and the basics of egg incubation, hatching eggs, and care of baby chicks, and provide resources regarding home processing of poultry for consumption and safe practices for handling eggs.
